The Story
I am Karen the owner and founder of Just the Tonic Holistic Therapies. From way back when, I had always had an interest in beauty and massage, I think it is so interesting how the body and mind work, it became my passion quite quickly.
I enrolled on a part-time beauty course back in 2010 and a year later qualified in Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy, the first part of my journey had begun.
I started out as a mobile therapist, visiting people in their homes, it was hard but enjoyable at the same time. I then moved into a rented room in a local hairdresser and was approached by Heart of England Training to move onto Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy, on that course I would learn Swedish Massage. This is it, my chance to learn massage, my absolute passion, so I quickly signed up!
After I qualified, I started working in an award-winning salon, I loved the experience, and learnt loads but I was itching to have my own business once again. I loved the freedom and the buzz you get from it.
Just the Tonic Beauty was born, and I started back as a mobile therapist and carried out some treatments at home, but it was hard trying to work around my husband’s shifts so when an opportunity came along to rent a room at Webb Ellis Court, I jumped at the chance! I was eager to learn more holistic therapies, so along came reflexology, pregnancy massage, oncology massage, Reiki and sound healing.
I’m passionate about helping people feel balanced, relaxed, and cared for through holistic therapies. I specialise in Reiki, massage, reflexology, facials, and sound healing, offering a comprehensive approach to wellness.
I bring empathy, understanding, and a non-judgmental attitude to every session. I truly believe that each person is unique, and I tailor every treatment to suit your individual needs, whether you’re seeking relaxation, relief from stress or tension, or simply a space to reconnect with yourself.
My goal is to put you at ease straight away and listen to your personal needs. I make sure I explain in detail about your treatment and the products I use. It is important to me that you are comfortable. All I ask you to do is relax and float away to a place of tranquillity. It's all about you and always will be.
All my products that I use are 100% natural, organic and cruelty free.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter who lives down in Cornwall, meditating, love learning new things and being out in nature, which helps me stay grounded and connected to the world around me.

My location
I am based in Rugby, Warwickshire, situated just 10 minutes from Coventry. I am easily accessible from Daventry, Lutterworth, Northampton, Royal Leamington Spa and the wider Warwickshire area.

Frequently asked questions
Just the Tonic Holistic Therapies is located within Webb Ellis Court a Housing 21 retirement complex, which is open to the public.
There is free parking at the front of the building.
Appointments can be booked online, just click on the book now button and it will take you through to SalonIQ’s booking system.
Appointments that need to be rescheduled or cancelled must be done so no later than 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Deposits are non-refundable and will be used to cover loss of earnings for no shows or cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice. Please telephone Karen on 01788 288052 should you wish to cancel your appointment, or you can cancel online, if it is before 48 hours.
For appointment moves, your deposit can only be moved with it ONCE and must be done so with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. Multiple appointment moves are not allowed as it affects our scheduling and availability for other clients.
If you no-show for a scheduled appointment you will be charged 100% of your appointment cost. Just the Tonic Holistic Therapies reserves the right to decline any person(s) from booking future appointments if the cancellation policy is not adhered to.

For anyone who has a gift voucher from Ovatu booking system, please book your appointment directly with Karen on 01788 288052. Please have your gift voucher to hand when you call.
Gift vouchers purchased through SalonIQ, please follow the book now button and book your appointment as normal, when directed to pay the deposit please pay by gift voucher by inputting the code.
Should you reschedule or cancel your appointment within 48 hours then your deposit will be kept as per my cancellation policy, and a further deposit will be required to book in for the next available appointment. If you have rearranged your appointment before the 48 hours, then your deposit will be carried over.
Please do not arrive any earlier than 5 minutes prior to the start of your appointment time. If you are early, then please kindly wait outside the Wellbeing Suite until your appointment time. There are also chairs at the front by the entrance, should you wish to sit down.
Please arrive alone for your appointment as my treatment room has no waiting area.
The treatment room will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised between clients and the treatment couch will always be replenished with fresh clean towels and linen.
It is always best to wear comfortable, easy to remove clothes. For reflexology treatments you will only be asked to remove your shoes and socks (if you are wearing any).
For Reiki treatments you will be fully clothed, but your shoes are required to be removed and placed in the basket provided.
A deposit is required before any treatment is carried out, you can choose to save your card details if you wish, and they will be securely kept on your SalonIQ profile. You can then pay for the balance of your treatment with the stored card we also have a card machine or cash if you prefer. If you wish to pay by bank transfer, please let me know beforehand so that I can send you over the bank details. Payment will be required before I start your treatment, (this is for first time clients only).
For regular clients, payment is required before you leave the treatment room, thank you.
